For a game like Sleeping Dogs, a story-driven open-world crime drama, creating compelling characters is everything. If the player doesn't care about the characters, then they won't care about the story. If the player doesn't care about the story, then there's a good chance they're going to lose interest, since the story is what's pushing them forward.
While having a great cast of voice actors to breathe life into these characters doesn't necessarily mean that Sleeping Dogs will be a great game, it's a good sign that Square Enix and developer United Front Games have their heads in the right place.
