Since the shooting at Century 16 Cinema in Aurora, CO, last Friday, gun sales in the state of Colorado have increased. Colorado Bureau of Investigation-approved background checks jumped by 43 percent between Friday and Sunday, says the Denver Post. There were 1,216 checks on Friday alone, a 43 percent jump over the previous two Fridays.

According to Jake Meyers, an employee at Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo, this past Monday was the "the busiest Monday all year." The basic firearms courses offered by the store are "booked solid" for the coming three weeks.

As the Post mentioned, the 2011 shooting in Tucson and the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre both resulted in significant increases in gun sales and background checks. It seems like people would rather buy a gun than talk about gun control.
