If you were one of those left watching The Killing last season, we've got some bad news: According to Michael Ausiello at TV Line, network AMC has opted not to renew the series for a third season citing low ratings and a drop in critical support after the "Who Killed Rosie Larsen?" plot was not resolved at the end of season one.

In a statement, AMC said the following of the show's cancellation: "After much deliberation, we’ve come to the difficult decision not to renew The Killing for a third season...AMC is incredibly proud of the show and is fortunate to have worked with such a talented team on this project, from showrunner Veena Sud and our terrific partners at Fox Television Studios to the talented, dedicated crew and exceptional cast."

Though the show received tons of critical acclaim when it first premiered, a slow-moving storyline contributed to a 17 percent drop in ratings between the first and second season finales, and a 35 percent drop in viewers when compared to the pilot.
