Potentially awesome casting news: Tim Roth has been cast as the lead in David Cronenberg's upcoming television series, Knifeman, Deadline is reporting. Roth wil portray John Tattersall, "a radical, self-educated surgeon who will go to unorthodox lengths to uncover the secrets of the human body." And you know when it comes to Cronenberg, unorthodox could mean anything. Consider us sold.
Unlike us, however, the show itself has not been sold yet - the "straight-to-series" project will be shopped around to networks soon, though. But really, we can't imagine they'll have much trouble selling it to anyone who's seen Cronenberg's 1981 film Scanners. Get on this, HBO.
