An employee at the Kolmården zoo went into the wolf enclosure for the last time Sunday morning around 11 a.m. Witnesses report that after she entered the enclosure, the wolves surrounded her before mauling her to death. It took approximately 11 minutes. Emergency services couldn't save her.
“It’s very unusual for something like this to happen, but it has happened before," said Olof Liberg, wolf expert at Sweden’s University of Agricultural Sciences.
