Not only is Robocop getting a makeover and a face-lift, but its cast keeps getting better. It's been announced that Samuel L. Jackson will play "charismatic media mogul" Pat Novak, alongside Joel Kinnaman (The Killing), the latter set to take the lead as police officer Alex Murphy who is brought back to life as a cyborg, and Gary Oldman, who will play the scientist responsible for turning Kinnaman into a cyborg.

RoboCop, with director Jose Padilha (the critically acclaimed Elite Squad movies) at the helm, will begin shooting in Toronto in September and is set for an August 9, 2013 release.
