Movie fans hoping for some news on director Alfonso Cuaron's mysterious sci-fi movie, Gravity, will have to wait a bit longer because Collider is now reporting that the film has been delayed from its original release date in November until sometime in 2013. The most likely reason for the delay is because of the large amount of special effects and CGI that are being worked on for the movie.
Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, Gravity is set to be an ambitious sci-fi film centering on Bullock's character getting stranded in space after her ship breaks down. Aside from Bullock being the only actor on the screen for most of the movie, Cuaron is experimenting with cutting-edge CGI and technical wizardry, such as a rumored 17-minute uninterrupted shot, for the final product.
This will be Cuaron's first feature-length film since his 2006 masterpiece, Children of Men, so the buzz surrounding this movie is near-deafening at this point. Hopefully the delay will benefit the movie in the long run, instead of being an ominous sign of things to come.
