The Rockaways were all the rage last summer, and you can expect more of the same this year now that MGMT's Andrew VanWyngarden bought a house there. The group's co-founder just bought a house on Beach 93rd Street for $375,000, and the improving neighborhood is becoming more attractive, as folks that already own Manhattan condos are buying property there now.
MGMT moving into the neighborhood will probably do wonders for the property value, but the massive beer garden that's on the way will probably put the Rockaways over the top.
