The Kickstarter game known as Mythic: The Story of Gods and Men has proved to be a scam, the funding having been cancelled and the developer having apparently fled the internet in fear less than 24 hours ago.

The game was supposedly "by the same team that left Activision / Blizzard", with "gameplay characteristics will be similar to that of World of Warcraft" and graphics that "should be up there with Skyrim", build on a custom version of the Unity3D engine and with motion capture animations "thanks to some friends at Disney/Pixar!"

Yeah, seems legit.

In any case, forum users at Something Awful and RPS discovered that much of the proposed art was stolen from various sites around the internet. With the sketchiness of the rest of the pitch, it's unsurprising that "Little Monster Productions" cancelled funding (and their account) and high-tailed it back to whatever dirty part of Hollywood they came from.

The game's official site is still up for some reason. There are tons of "games" being funded on Kickstarter right now—are there any others, like the political game that borrowed assets from Nintendo, that you think could possibly turn out to be a scam? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
