Supergiant's booth at PAX East 2012 included a great surprise—they had the very first prototype of the award-winning "Bastion," created after about a month of work and barely out of its conceptual state, on hand for show-goers to test out for themselves.

The game was nearly unrecognizable in such an early state, but even then it had a spark of genius. We can see why it's won so many awards.

Supergiant founder Greg Kasavin was also on hand—you can hear him speak a little bit and watch his head bob in and out of the frame. Did you enjoy Bastion? Can you believe what it looked like during its early stages? Let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter.
