News that Double Fine, studio of Tim Schafer and the 2 million dollar Kickstarter, trademarked a name for an upcoming project earlier this week sent the internet into frenzied speculation. Could The Cave be the name of Double Fine's highly anticipated indie game?

No. No it's not.

Double Fine representives told Gamespot that The Cave, definitely isn't the Double Fine Kickstarter project: "While we can't comment on unannounced projects, we can say that Double Fine's Kickstarter-funded adventure game has not been started, designed, or even imagined yet. No trademarks have been filed on its behalf."

So there you have it, folks. The Cave may or may not be another game for Double Fine fans to look forward to, but it's not the game all you investors have put your hard-earned money in.
