The Kickstarter project for Wasteland 2, the long-awaited sequel to the original post-apocalypse RPG, has done quite well for itself. Its original goal of $900,000 was reached in only two days, and that number has nearly doubled in the two weeks since then.

Now Obsidian Entertainment—and more specifically, their CCO Chris Avellonehas pledged to sign on with Inxile Entertainment to develop Wasteland 2 if the donations reach $2.1 million. Avellone and the team at Obsidian worked on the bulk of Fallout 1 and 2, as well as the celebrated Planescape: Torment and, more recently, Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas. With 17 days to go and less than $400,000 left to that goal, it seems likely that'll happen.

Not that Inxile wouldn't do a great job on their own, but with Avellone and Obsidian on board as well this could end up being a must-buy. We're rooting for them. Now give them your money! Have you donated already? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
