Epic Mickey producer Warren Spector announced confirmed that his studio, Junction Point, is working the sequel to Epic Mickey. Epic Mickey 2: Power of Two will be a very different game, based on Spector's interview with the Associated Press. For starters, the game is a musical. The original Epic Mickey didn't even have voice acting - Power of Two will feature a fully voiced cast and characters who regularly break out in song.
As indicated by past rumors, Epic Mickey 2: Power of Two is going multi-platform this time around: The game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Spector didn't mention the rumored 3DS version of the game.
Epic Mickey 2's gameplay is designed with co-op in mind. The game features drop-in, drop-out co-op, with one player controlling Mickey Mouse while the other takes the role of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald's primary abilities come from a remote control that lets him control electricity. Oswald will be AI-controlled in a single player experience.
Spector mentioned that Junction Point is specifically addressing many of the original game's key problems for Epic Mickey 2, including its infamous camera issues.
"We've had a team working on the camera from literally the day we finished the first game. They'll be working on it until the day we ship the second game," says Spector. "Over 1,000 specific changes [have been] made to the camera. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game."
