Developer Funcom announced today that their upcoming thriller-MMO, The Secret World, will launch on June 19th, two months past its previous April 2012 launch window. According to developer Funcom, the developers want time "to apply even more polish before launch."

You may not have to wait that long to take The Secret World out for a spin, though. As part of their extended quality control effort, the developers will be running an expanded public pre-release beta.

“The additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch," said senior producer Ragnar Tørnquist.
