Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has debuted in the UK at number one in the week's overall sales chart, toppling Final Fantasy XIII-2 from the top spot and bumping The Darkness 2, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Fifa 12, Battlefield 3, Skyrim and others down a spot or two. Maybe the Brits thought it was another Fable game from their native Peter Molyneux.
Just kidding! Reckoning absolutely stands on its own. Interestingly, the last time a new RPG IP debuted at the top was well over a decade ago, with Pokemon Red in 2000. So that's why game publishers are always playing it safe with sequels and remakes. Hmm.
