Following a report that a simple graphics card swap used up one of three activations for Ubisoft's Anno 2070, the publisher issued a statement basically saying "Yup". We wrote about it (as did many other sites), which is apparently all it took for BlueByte, the Ubisoft-owned studio behind the game, to set it right, Rock, Paper Shotgun report. Imagine that.

They gave Guru3D, the gamer with the original complaint, some new activations, adding, "Just wanted to let you know, that we now remove the graphics hardware from the hash used to identify the PC. That means everyone should now be able to switch the GFX as many times as he/she wants."

SOPA and PIPA getting canned yesterday was apparently the first victory of many, if we keep this up. We're on a roll. What's next, Half-Life 3 getting announced?
