Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Teaming With Mass Effect, Getting A Demo

It seems that "Kingdoms of Amalur" and "Mass Effect" will be raiding each other closets.

There's some pretty cool stuff happening between the studios behind Mass Effect 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. With the demos of each game approaching quickly, not to mention their release dates. there's some cool incentives for those who decide to try the demos.

Basically, playing the demo for one will net you eclusive items for the other full game. For example, playing the Mass Effect 3 demo will get you these items in the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning full game:

- N7 Armor: Players can unlock special armor inspired by Commander Shepard’s iconic N7 battle armor including Helm, Cuirass, Gauntlets, Chausses and Greaves.

- Omniblade Daggers: A holographic blade stemming from Commander Shepard’s Omni-Tool, the Omni-blade allows players to stab enemies in close combat. Once players install and play the Mass Effect 3 demo, they will unlock the daggers.

- Twist of Fate Card: This card boosts the player’s ice resistance and is immediately unlocked when he or she activates the Reckoning demo using his or her Origin account.

- Twinned Souls Chakram: A unique weapon that damages enemies while boosting player health and mana in Reckoning.

- The Infernal Helm: Unlocked after completing the Reckoning Tutorial Mode, this protective helmet increases players’ fire damage throughout Amalur.

Likewise, playing the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will get you this in-game items when Mass Effect 3 ships:

- Reckoner Knight Armor: This armor will maximize damage done in close-quarters combat while a beefed–up power cell feeds energy into weapon systems to increase projectile velocity.

- The Chakram Launcher: This weapon uses a fabricator to manufacture lightweight, explosive ammunition discs. This weapon is earned after completing the Reckoning demo and watching the trailer at the end.

Well, it looks like there's a lot of cool stuff to be had here, and it will all have some real in-game benefits. So play both demos when they drop. The demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be here on January 17, and Mass Effect 3's should be here with enough time to take advantage of the cross promotion.
