A month or so back, we reported on the release of the trailer for Indie Game: The Movie and it's upcoming premiere at Sundance. Between then and now, the film had a very impressive showing, and now the possibilities may be bigger than what the filmmakers has thought.

Response to the film at Sundance was overwhelmingly positive, and now it seems that HBO has optioned the film to be turned into a fictional TV series, following people trying to make their own video games.

Aside from that, the show would be produced by Scott Rudin, whose producing credits include No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, and about 90 other titles, many of which you'd heard of.

Hopefully, the "optioning" of the series will turn into a full-blown production, because HBO and Scott Rudin sitting behind this thing could make it into something really great.
