After tributes to the likes of Les Paul and Freddie Mercury this year, Google has unveiled another Doodle on its homepage today, this time celebrating Mexican painter Diego Rivera with an inspired mural on what would’ve been his 125th birthday.
Famous for historicizing Mexico through his work, Rivera helped to establish the Mexican Mural Movement of the ‘20s and ‘30s. His tempestuous marriage to Frida Kahlo—herself a Doodle honoree in 2010—had a profound effect on her own Surrealist works.
