A few of director John Landis’ best offerings are onscreen this week at BAM. This week, An American Werewolf in London lets you in on how they used to make werewolf movies, when Taylor Lautner was just a twinkle in someone’s eye. That is to say, there is definitely an equal sense of ridiculousness in this tale of two American hikers who get bit in the countryside and return to London to find themselves a lot hairier than they remember. It’s full of over-the-top acting, terrible special effects, and roaring. Not that much different than Twilight, actually.

Following the werewolf movie is Coming Soon, a compilation of cheesy movie trailers that Landis put together himself. Rare treats, both, as Werewolf will be show in 35mm and Coming Soon on VHS.
