Despite the initial struggle of first-gen Google TV devices, the home entertainment platform will get a second wind next year care of Samsung. The global tech giant, one of the world's largest television manufacturers, will launch its own TV with Google's software built-in in 2012.
The Wall Street Journal confirms that Sammy is in final talks to start producing Google TVs. So far, only Sony has offered a set with the software, which allows users to access the entire Internet a long with a variety of entertainment apps, baked in. Stand-a-lone set top boxes by Sony and Logitech have not sold well.
With a new version of the Google TV software that was unveiled last month, and Samsung's prominent status in the home entertainment world, perhaps the platform's fortunes will turn in 2012.
