In the same vein as what happened during filming of The Expendables 2, the film G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation suffered a tragic blow on the New Orleans set on November 22. Mike Huber, a local New Orleans resident, was tearing down a set, while using a scissor-lift. The scissor-lift somehow tipped over, and the crew member sustained fatal injuries resulting in the lost of life. Paramount Pictures released a statement after the on-set fatality:

"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the [crew member's] family at this time. The safety of our cast and crew is our top priority and the studio is fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident."

No word has been released on whether production will be delayed due to this unfortunate event. G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation is still scheduled for release on July 29, 2012. The Jon Chu-directed action-adventure flick stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Channing Tatum, Elodie Yung, RZA, Adrianne Palicki, and Ray Stevenson.
