Now that Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti Western has begun to snowball, he'll have to eventually stop casting the damn thing and start filming. We reported last week that Kerry Washington recently joined to play our hero's wife, "Broomhilda," and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the latest name added to the rumor mill to take part in the ensemble. On the heels of all that news comes word that Anthony LaPaglia has tossed his name into the Django Unchained gang.

Deadline reports that the Without a Trace star will play the greedy slaveowner leader of an Australian gang who run into Jamie Foxx's title character, a former slave and current bounty hunter who is trying to rescue his wife from the clutches of a ruthless plantation owner (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) who puts his slaves in bloody and compromising conflicts.

LaPaglia believes like we do that Tarantino's screenplay is "wildly ambitious and imaginative," but will the controversial director be able to find time for all these recognizable faces? In addition to the names mentioned, Django Unchained also features Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Michael K. Williams, Gerald McRaney, and Don Johnson. Filming kicks off in January for a Christmas Day 2012 release.
