Anyone who has seen John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic sci-fi/horror flick, The Thing, can pretty much figure out what to expect from next month's prequel of the same name. Universal just released a new red band trailer for The Thing, starring Warrior's Joel Edgerton and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World). Set three days before the Kurt Russell-led escapade, Winstead plays a paleontologist who joins a Norwegian crew of researchers just as they are beset by body-snatching aliens.

There are plenty of creepy crawlies to watch in this one-minute clip. Those who don't want to wait until the movie hits theaters can now see the digusting monster above. Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.The Thing also stars Kim Bubbs, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Jonathan Walker and looks to hit theaters on October 14, 2011.
