There has finally been some casting confirmations for The Expendables 2, which is scheduled to begin production in Bulgaria next month. The Simon West-directed testosterone-fest already added heavyweights like Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Dammeto the acting roster, while Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are confirmed to expand on their brief roles from the first film. The latest addition to The Expendables 2 cast is fresh-faced actor—who's career is definitely on the rise—Liam Hemsworth.

While his older brother Chris Hemsworth made ladies swoon with this summer's blockbuster Thor, Liam hopes that by starring in this and the upcoming The Hunger Games, he'll propel himself into the Hollywood stratosphere. The 21-year-old actor will play a sniper in The Expendables 2, and to date, will be the youngest cast member in the sequel. Rumors are already being circulated that he could be the brawny son to one of the film's aging action stars, but nothing is confirmed.

With the film currently in development—does this latest casting put the film over the top? Or are you happy to see a young star get some shine time? Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, and Randy Couture are expected to kick-ass and take names when The Expendables 2 hits theaters on August 17, 2012.
