Susan Sarandon, who last appeared in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, is looking to negotiate her wage to join Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the action-thriller Snitch. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Felon), the script centers on a suburban father who is hit hard when his teenage knucklehead son is sentenced to 30 years under madatory minimum drug laws. The Rock's character tries to reduce his seed's time in the bing by going undercover to serve up a senior drug dealer. The story is based on a Frontline documentary about the life of James Settembrino.

If Sarandon does sign on the dotted line, she'll play an opportunistic U.S. attorney who believes that a drug bust can help her political career. The role was reconfigured from male to female by Waugh. The much-delayed project is finally getting on the move. But before cameras start rolling, the classy actress is preparing to step in front of cameras for The Wachowski Brothers' Cloud Atlas. Meanwhile, The Rock is already preparing to stop evil as "Roadblock" in Jon Chu's G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, which hits theaters June 2012.
