AT&T will finally offer a true high speed data network as of this weekend, when its anticipated LTE service goes live in five launch cities. The lucky residents of Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio will be able to sign up for 4G LTE data plans as of Sunday.

AT&T has said it will charge $50 for 5GB of LTE data service per month. Each additional gigabyte will cost $10.

The company recently released its first LTE compatible tablet, the HTC Jetstream. The first smartphone running on the new LTE network will reportedly be from HTC, but has not yet been officially announced.
