Up All Night, the new NBC comedy starring Will Arnett, Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph, has a very-funny pilot, and now, a new cast member. TVGuide reports that Nick Cannon has joined the show as Rudolph's talk-show sidekick.
Of course, Rudolph isn't a talk show host in the pilot; she's a PR maven. Her position was changed to take better advantage of Rudolph's burgeoning Bridesmaids fame and her comedic prowess. Per TVGuide, "Cannon will play Calvin, the wildly popular co-host to talk show star Ava (Rudolph), who can't help but be jealous of the attention her energetic sidekick receives."
This moves the show further away from what it was initially, but that shouldn't matter too much. After all, Applegate will still play an employee of Rudolph, and still have to deal with a newborn baby.
Up All Night premieres in September.
