Adobe Introduces Flash Replacement “Edge”

Adobe evolves their web design beyond soon-to-be-archaic software.

None

Adobe must have been legitimately concerned with Apple’s refusal to enable their devices to read Flash. In a move that signals what Adobe is betting their future on, the company released the new “Edge” tool, which allows for animated design content to operate using HTML5, CSS and Javascript instead of Flash.

However, Adobe says that Edge is intended to co-exist with Flash, not to outright take its place. Edge is merely a tool that helps Adobe more fully integrate into the mobile Internet, which because of Apple, didn’t promise a viable future for Flash.
