The only true casting news we want to hear have the words "Star," "Trek," and "sequel" in the headline.

With Star Trek 2 pushed back till Lord knows when, Simon Pegg is biding his time in films like Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, and now a semi-comedy called A Fantastic Fear of Everything.

Billed as a "psycho-comedy," the film finds the writer-actor as a children's author who basically goes insane when his latest project turns him into a paranoid wreck. It's an odd, yet brilliant script that will be directed by Crispian Mills (the son of English actress Hayley Mills). Universal Pictures will release the film with independent studio Indomina handling the U.S. distribution.

Amara Karan, Clare Higgins, Sheridan Smith, and Alan Drake also star in the film. We don't know when this is scheduled to hit theaters, but we continue to enjoy Pegg's journey down the road less traveled by taking offbeat roles.
