Thinking of grilling out this weekend? A little cookout perhaps? Do yourself a huge favor and cancel those plans, because more than 45 chefs who are a lot better than you will be holding a barbecue cook-off that you will not want to miss.

The 8th annual Meatopia is this Saturday evening at Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and the menu includes a meat-lovers dream lineup prepared by a who's who of world-renowned chefs: April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig, The Breslin) is barbecuing a whole mulefoot hog, Pat LaFreida is tossing an 850 lb. whole steer on the grill (not without chopping it up first we presume), and Sean Brock (Husk Restaurant in Charleston) is doing a Carolina whole Ossabow hog. Vegan options? Not a chance, but there will be plenty of Amstel Light on hand, as well as the national finals of Whole Foods Market's butchering contest. Great food, beer and views of lower Manhattan? Sign us up!
