Dwayne Johnson In Talks To Bolster "G.I. Joe 2"

Another high-profile film franchise is ready to smell what The Rock is...you know the rest.

The Rock...excuse us, Dwayne Johnson is currently riding high on the massive success of Fast Five, in which we were led to believe that Vin Diesel is not only Johnson's height (not even close) but that he could actually go toe-to-toe with the former WWE megastar (even further from the truth, we'd imagine). Not one to rest on his blockbuster laurels, Johnson now has his sights set on another big-deal franchise sequel: G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes, the 3D sequel to 2009's underwhelming G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra.

According to Deadline, Johnson is on board to play Roadblock. Though, he's not the only one interested in the project, which will be directed by Jon Chu (he of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never fame). Channing Tatum, who starred in The Rise Of Cobra, is expected to return to the role of Duke. As the sequel's title implies, Cobra Commander will figure prominently into the action, yet Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played the character in the first flick, won't be back; instead, he's focusing on a little film known as The Dark Knight Rises. In other words, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has common sense.
