Attack The Block, which has received nothing but love from us since its SXSW debut, will be released here in the U.S. on July 29. After Screen Gems acquired the distribution rights to English writer-director Joe Cornish's first-time directorial effort, the project is now in for some fierce competition for box office supremacy that weekend, with three wide release and several other indie releases.

The Daniel Craig-starring Cowboys & Aliens, Crazy Stupid Love, and the live-action adaptation of The Smurfs will all receive a wide release on July 29, as well. Limited releases include The Devil's Double(starring Dominic Cooper), The Guard, Good Neighbours, and the Ridley Scott-produced documentary Life In A Day.

Attack The Block, which centers on a group of London street kids who have to fend off an alien onslaught, co-stars Nick Frost, along with a gang of newcomers. Mark your calendars.
