Geoff Dyer's that rare generalist who will write intelligently about whatever subject has caught his eye on that particular day. His latest collection, Otherwise Known as the Human Condition, covers such disparate subjects as Def Leppard, sex in nice hotels, Albert Camus, and jazz. The release of this slim volume is the occasion for his conversation with the especially hip Lorin Stein, the editor of The Paris Review and literary partyman (ask about him). Greenlight in Brooklyn will host the conversation. You'll feel your cool meter tick up a few notches.
