50 Cent has signed on for what's easily his strangest film role yet: He's going play Shamus Cocobolo, a blind DJ, in director Stephen Sommers' (G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra) adaptation of the Dean Koontz novel, Odd Thomas.

The part calls for Fif's sightless disc jockey to help the titular hero uncover a devilish plot that involves pentagrams and human sacrifices. Yes, a blind deejay who can "see" evil. Meanwhile Anton Yelchin, who co-stars with Colin Farrell in the horror-com remake Fright Night, will star as Odd Thomas himself, a clairvoyant short-order cook. Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, and the insanely hot Gugu Mbatha-Raw round out the the cast.

Curtis "50" Jackson recently wrapped the Bruce Willis-Ryan Phillippe heist film Set Up and is set to re-team with Willis on the action pic Fire With Fire. Currently, the rapper-turned-actor is filming Freelancers with Forest Whitaker and Robert De Niro.

Odd Thomas is scheduled to begin filming imminently in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
