Remember that hack that could turn your NOOK Color e-reader into a full-fledged, albeit slow, tablet? Barnes & Noble has now made it an official update.

The nation's leading book retailer today announced an update for its NOOK Color e-reader that allows it to run apps that include Angry Birds and Epicurious, an e-mail client, and Adobe Flash support for viewing videos on YouTube.

As of now there are only around 125 apps available in the NOOK App Shop, with some being free, and the majority costing around $6. They've all been designed to run on the Nook's 7-inch screen.

News of this update first came when the Home Shopping Network leaked info about Barnes & Noble's plan to turn the NOOK Color into more of a tablet via a software update.

The update is available now at nookcolor.com/update
