Now that The Farrelly Brothers have secured Moe (Chris Diamantopolous), Curly (Will Sasso), and Larry (Sean Hayes) for their The Three Stooges movie, the casting net is widening. Glee star Jane Lynch has just signed on  to play the character of "Mother Superior" at the orphanage where the boys grew up.

In the film, the long-agonizing matriarch has been trying to get rid of the knuckleheaded threesome for years to no avail, presumably because they're the type to beat each other in the face with rulers in front of prospective parents.

We definitely approve. The Emmy and Golden Globe winner, best known these days as Glee's villainous Sue Sylvester, has done some great comedic work  in Christopher Guest's mockumentary Best In Show and For Your Consideration, as well as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Role Models.

The Three Stooges will begin shooting shortly in May to be released into theaters some time next year
