Frank Darabont wrote and directed two of the best Stephen King film adaptations (The Shawshank Redemption and The Mist), and handled another that received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture (The Green Mile). As such, logic would dictate that Darabont and King are pretty close (or at least close in Hollywood-speak), and so the question must be asked: Would Stephen King ever do something for The Walking Dead.

If you believe actress Laurie Holden, absolutely. During a panel at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, Holden revealed that King is in discussions to write a second season episode of the hit AMC series. No word yet on how official this is -- or what episode King would write -- but even non-horror buffs would have to be excited about King putting pen to paper on a script for the breakout AMC series. Fingers crossed this rumor actually comes true.
