"Entourage" Creator Planning "Entourage"-y Show with Ed Burns

As it turns out, guys still have close friends at age 40. If only someone would develop a show about that...

Feeling blue that Entourage will start its final season this summer? Here's some good news: creator Doug Ellin is teaming up with Ed Burns for what sounds like a continuation of the seminal HBO series. Though, one without all the celebrity and Vitamin Water.

40, as it's being called, will follow the lives of a group of male friends as they travel through that titular age bracket. Think of it as Entourage: The Later Years. Burns, who has appeared as himself on Entourage, will headline the show, with Ellin writing and executive producing.

Before you say, "Where's Vince?" consider that Burns has made a career out of working-class male ennui, and combined with Ellin's male fantasy sensibility, this could be a show worth watching. At least it might be better than How to Make It in America.
