"Deus Ex: Human Revolution" Gameplay Leaked From PAX East

Move over, JC Denton, and make way for Adam Jensen.

The original Deus Ex surprised the game industry by allowing players to choose how they wanted to play the game: missions could be completed using combinations of brute force, stealth, puzzle solving, and even dialogue choices. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, coming in August, is a prequel to the original game that takes place 25 years earlier. Footage of the gameplay was recorded during a panel discussion at PAX East this weekend.  The video clearly shows that player choice is still present; you can use hacking skills to disable a turret or instead find a stealthy path through a vent to circumvent it.  While the game should remain enormously flexible, it doesn’t appear to support the dressing-in-drag-to-seduce-the-enemy gameplay we’ve been waiting for. Maybe in a patch down the road?
