The original Deus Ex surprised the game industry by allowing players to choose how they wanted to play the game: missions could be completed using combinations of brute force, stealth, puzzle solving, and even dialogue choices. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, coming in August, is a prequel to the original game that takes place 25 years earlier. Footage of the gameplay was recorded during a panel discussion at PAX East this weekend. The video clearly shows that player choice is still present; you can use hacking skills to disable a turret or instead find a stealthy path through a vent to circumvent it. While the game should remain enormously flexible, it doesn’t appear to support the dressing-in-drag-to-seduce-the-enemy gameplay we’ve been waiting for. Maybe in a patch down the road? [via VG24/7]
