She's been absent from television for quite a while, but it looks like Christina Applegate could return to the small screen this fall. The actress has signed on to lead a new comedy pilot from NBC and Lorne Michaels.
Applegate, last seen on Samantha Who?, will star as a harried working mother who has to navigate life, career, and a couple of "opinionate parents." Sounds about right. Before you roll your eyes at the idea of seeing another working-mother-makes-good television comedy, note that Michaels is producing the pilot from a script by Emily Spivey. Spivey has worked on SNL and, most recently, Parks and Recreation. Maybe this new show will be as funny?
