A day before pre-ordering begins for its iPhone 4, Verizon has released details on how much it's going to charge you to talk, text, and surf the web using the long-awaited smartphone.
The basic 450-minute voice plan will cost $40. Pretty routine, nothing to see here. When you start including text and data is where it gets interesting.
One-upping AT&T, Verizon will offer a voice and text plan featuring unlimited text messaging starting at $60. Unlimited data plans that will allow you to surf the web and download and use apps, will run you $30. To compare: AT&T offers 2GB of data per month for $25. Will you ever go over 2GB, who knows, but it's great knowing you can.
For an $20 a month, you will be able to use your phone as a wi-fi hotspot, a feature that has left AT&T iPhone users pretty salty. Not bad, Verizon. Though, either way, whichever service you choose, Apple wins.
