Epic Makes Unreal Engine 3 Available to NGP Developers

Nintendo responds by saying, "Oh, crap!" Or so we assume.

None

Seems like you can't go more than a day without hearing big news from Epic Games. This morning, after yesterday's announcement of the Gears of War 3 release date, they unveiled that they'd be providing Unreal Engine 3 support on Sony’s upcoming NGP handheld. This means that developers can now license the award-winning engine and pump out some unbelievable titles for the portable entertainment system. Last year we saw what the Unreal Engine 3 could do for the iOS when they revealed their breathtaking tech demo, Epic Citadel.  Epic Games’ founder, Tim Sweeney, had some bold words regarding this announcement: “We see NGP as a true game-changer with a perfect combination of performance, innovative controls and gamer appeal that make it truly a high-end console in your pocket.” Sure, it's spin control, but you gotta think Miyamoto and his gang at Nintendo just started sweating a little.
