After initial script problems, it appears that director Albert Hughes' Akira adaptation is finally coming together. Variety reports that Warner Bros., which was unhappy with earlier drafts by Iron Man scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, have inducted screenwriter Steve Kloves, who's famous for adapting the Harry Potter books for the screen.

While a few names like James Franco have been thrown around as cast for the manga adaptation, it's all speculation for now. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran of Applan Way will produce Akira along with Hughes and his brother, Allen.
