Ever since mobile phones began sporting video cameras, people have been shooting short flicks and sharing them around the Internet. Only those "films" were of middling interest—usually spur of the moment fuckery performed by friends and uploaded to YouTube or WSHH. But two USC film students think modern-day mobile phones can be used as an actual filmmaking tool.

Using the iPhone 4, Michael Koerbel and Anna Elizabeth James shot a short movie called Apple of My Eye (shown above) and uploaded the flick to Vimeo in a span of less than 48 hours. The video quickly got half a million hits and inspired the duo to go further by shooting an entire web series called Goldilocks that is also shot using an iPhone and distributed via the Apple App Store (the new videos are sent to their free iPhone app). Burn, Hollywood, burn.
