Did you know that Sid Meier wasn't even remotely involved with this game titled after him? It doesn't even matter—Civ II was an amazing game in every sense of the word, giving you controls of an entire civilization as you took it through 6000 years of history in a mere couple of hours. Then, you looked up and realized it was actually 4 a.m. and you had actually been playing for 14 hours straight. With simple micromanagement controls and interface, it's no wonder turn-based strategy games are measured by the gold standard set by this 1996 classic.
