Whiskey is important, and bourbon even more so. When you find a bar that embraces bourbon, that lists no less than 33 different varieties on the menu, embrace that bar back (although maybe not the barback) with whatever your wallet can afford. Located in the Flatiron District, the Rye House is one such deserving bar. Using Bulleit Bourbon as its base, the Clara Bow, named after the silent film sex siren, combines St. Germain, lemon, housemade grenadine, and mint to craft one immaculate cocktail. Bulleit is a great bourbon, tasting of burnt vanilla and finishing with a trim burn that doesn't overstay its welcome, but also leaves no doubt in the drinker's mind that he's just downed whiskey. In the Clara Bow, it becomes a nice mixer, but order one neat to really reflect on how good it is. Then try one of the other 32 bourbons stocked by the Rye House.
