For two decades, journalist Cheo Coker has kept some unheard interview tapes with The Notorious B.I.G. sitting in the attic. The audio will finally be made public in A&E's upcoming documentary, Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G., which premieres on September 4 at 8 p.m.

The doc will feature 2 Chainz, David Banner, Mike Will Made-It, Hurricane Dave, and T-Pain reflecting on how the legendary rapper's life, lyrics and legacy impacted their own lives. In the clip, which was released earlier today, we get to hear Biggie drop a few words of wisdom, including his perspective on the parallels between the drug scene and the rap game. "I gotta sell my product, you know what I'm saying, that's how I look at it," he said. "I got something I want y'all to be interested in, but you're not going to be interested in it unless you try it, so... the game ain't no different."

We also get to hear Biggie speak candidly about various moments in his own career, like the success of "Big Poppa," as well as a reflection on his own lyrics. "Everybody saying my music is so negative but I never tell anybody they should sell drugs," he said. "But drugs is out there, how could you ignore it? I was trying to just tell people what's going on, you know what I'm saying?" From what we're seeing in this six-minute clip, the doc promises to give us an inside look at Biggie's innermost thoughts. A&E will also be releasing a six hour limited series on the life and death of Tupac Shakur titled Who Killed Tupac?  Though there isn't a concrete release date, it's expected to be out sometime later this year. Check out the video clip from Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. above.
