For the last 16 years, youth-focused organisation Urban Development has been supporting young artists through courses, funding support, and their renowned Industry Takeover seminars that ignite that traditional DIY approach. Over the last few weeks, we have premiered episodes of their new series, Game Changer, featuring sound advice from music industry vets like Alex Boateng, Joss Meek and Zeon Richards.
Today, in the final edition of Game Changer, Tasha Demi shares her views on the music industry adapting to the internet's freeness with streaming and, of course, advice on building your own brand. As a Product Manager for Polydor Records, Tasha is responsible for managing marketing campaigns for a heavy roster of hit-makers. With artists like Stefflon Don, Rae Sremmurd, Playboi Carti and Wretch 32, her role is a busy one — but to survive in today's creative industries, multi-tasking your skills in daytime jobs and personal projects is extremely vital. Tasha showcased this when she executive produced DaVinChe's project, #POWERS, last year.
