Forget about Independence Day. Get it out of your head. Almost nothing good is happening here in the States. In Canada, however, everything seems downright fucking rosy. This weekend marked the annual Canada Day festivities, which naturally resulted in a surprise Drake appearance.

Drake made an unannounced appearance at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto Sunday night for the Canada 150 event, CBC Newsreported. "We celebrate our Indigenous people," Drake told the crowd, who had gathered for a headlining set from OVO Sound's own dvsn. "We celebrate the land that we're standing on tonight. I just came for the party, though. I'm gonna be honest."

Drake then gave fans a surprise set featuring performances of "Jumpman," "Gyalchester," and "Fake Love." Majid Jordan and Roy Woods also showed up for the Canada celebration, later taking in the fireworks with the crowd:

Last month, Drake premiered his new song "Signs" during Louis Vuitton's Paris Fashion Week show. The track marked Drake's first release since sharing the More Life playlist back in March. Though the track is sadly not a musical retelling of the 2002 M. Night Shyamalan film, it's still pretty damn good:
